Double Certification Acclimation Course ($600 per Person/Course is Two 8 hour days)
The firearms Acclimation course is typically divided between two themed packages, Cold War and Wild West. This blended course not only allows you to earn BOTH NRA Pistol and Rifle Certifications but it also Includes All Pistols and Rifles in Both Acclimation Course Packages! See how good of a shot you'd have been in the Wild West, and find out whether you're on Team AR or AK!
Learn from our expert instruction across various firearms disciplines with the blended acclimations course. Benefit from the course as you're guided through proper handling, shooting techniques, and tactical considerations specific to different firearm types. Our comprehensive firearms course covers pistols and rifles, including several different types of actions (such as striker fired vs double action-single action semi auto) to allow you to become a more versatile shooter and even discover new platforms to enjoy. Whether for personal defense, competition, or recreational shooting, Douglass and Locke's Firearms Acclimation Course will prepare you to continue to grow on your journey to being the best gun owner you can be.
Safety First, Always: This course includes a live fire portion, and safety is our utmost priority. There can be no live ammunition present until the live fire portion of the course. Our course emphasizes strict adherence to safety protocols, ensuring a secure and controlled learning environment. Participants neglecting to follow any safety rules may be immediately removed from the course. No refunds or rescheduling are ever possible for participants that violate the safety standards of Douglass and Locke, the Range where the course is taking place, or who may otherwise endanger any individual (including themselves) while participating in the course.

Eye protection, Ear protection, range fees, firearms, and roughly 200 rounds of ammunition is included in the cost per student.

A step by step breakdown of core concepts related to shooting, including but not limited to:
Eye dominance
Hand placement when holding different Firearms
Different shooting stances
A scaffolded escalation to ease newer or more anxious shooters, such as by
Using props to learn grip and stance
Using dry fire laser training to understand sight pictures
Using lower caliber firearms to reduce noise and recoil before moving onto more common calibers
Using a private bay at the range
